School Holiday Travel Starts with Smart Planning
With the school holidays just a few weeks away, families across South Africa are beginning to plan road trips, weekend getaways, and visits to loved ones. While accommodation bookings and packing lists often take centre stage, there's one travel essential that deserves just as much attention: your child's car seat.
Before setting off on your next family adventure, take a moment to check that your child's car seat is still the right fit. As children grow, their safety needs change, and a seat that was perfect a year ago may no longer provide the protection they need today.
Many parents assume that once their child has outgrown a baby car seat, they can transition straight to the vehicle's seat belt. However, standard seat belts are designed for adults and typically fit correctly only when a child reaches approximately 150cm in height. For younger children, a poorly positioned seat belt can increase the risk of injury during a collision.
That's why choosing the right car seat remains one of the most important steps in preparing for safe and stress-free holiday travel, especially for children between 15 months and 12 years old.

Advanced Safety You Can Trust

G-CELL Side Impact Protection
Inspired by the strength of nature's honeycomb structure, G-CELL technology is built into the side panels of the car seat to help absorb and redirect impact forces away from your child during a side collision. Acting as an additional layer of protection, it helps keep your little one safer on every journey.
AirProtect® Side Impact Technology
AirProtect® technology offers superior head protection by cushioning your child's head and helping to disperse impact forces into the headrest during a collision. This patented safety feature has been shown to reduce the risk of head injuries by up to 20%, giving parents added confidence every time they travel.
Combined with secure ISOFIX installation and premium comfort features, the Titan Pro i-Size is built to support years of safe family adventures.
5 Car Seat Safety Tips Every Parent Should Know Before the School Holidays
1. Check That Your Child Is Still in the Right Car Seat
Children grow faster than we realise. Before your holiday travels begin, check that your child's car seat is appropriate for their current age, height, and weight. Using the correct seat for their stage of development is one of the most effective ways to protect them on the road.
2. Ensure the Harness or Seat Belt Fits Correctly
A car seat can only do its job if it's used correctly. Harness straps should fit snugly against your child's body, while the seat belt should sit across the shoulder and low over the hips. It should never rest against the neck or across the stomach.
3. Avoid Bulky Winter Jackets
Thick jackets and puffer coats may keep children warm, but they can prevent the harness from fitting properly. Instead, secure your child in the car seat first and then place a blanket over them for added warmth during winter journeys.
4. Secure Loose Items in the Vehicle
Toys, bags, water bottles, and electronic devices can become dangerous projectiles during sudden braking or a collision. Before departing, secure loose items and store heavier belongings safely in the boot.
5. Take a Moment for a Final Safety Check
Whether you're travelling around the corner or across the country, always double-check that your child is correctly buckled in and that the car seat is securely installed before driving off. A quick safety check can make all the difference.
Get Holiday-Ready with Confidence
Whether you're planning a quick family getaway or a longer road trip, the right car seat helps ensure your child travels safely, comfortably, and securely from start to finish.
