Why Choose Me

Product Description

Combine our FamilyFix3 with the Jade, Coral, Pebble Pro i-Size, Tinca, Rock, Pebble Plus, Pearl Smart i-Size or Pearl Pro 2 i-Size, for an easy-to-use Click & Go installation. Our Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix3 fits both baby and toddler car seats for long-time use.

Installation

These days, more and more European cars have the ISOFIX system, so there is a good chance that yours will have it too. Our Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix3 easily attaches to your car’s ISOFIX anchor points. Follow the steps in our user manual for it to be correctly installed into your car.

Once installed, you can leave the FamilyFix3 in the car. This makes getting in and out of the car very easy, because the Pebble Pro i-Size, Tinca, Rock, Pebble Plus and Coral baby car seats can be attached to the base with a simple “click”, and our safety carrycot Jade can be attached with a simple “slide”. Visual indicators on the base notify you when your Maxi-Cosi car seat or safety carrycot is correctly secured, and you are ready to “go”.

The FamilyFix3 also fits our Pearl Pro 2 i-Size and Pearl Smart i-Size car seat for toddlers, allowing you to continue using it even after your little one has outgrown their first car seat or safety carrycot.

The FamilyFix3 can be installed with the Jade safety carrycot, the Pebble Pro i-Size, Tinca, Rock, Pebble Plus and Coral baby car seats, or the Pearl Pro 2 i-Size and Pearl Smart i-Size toddler car seat.

Safety

At Maxi-Cosi we have carried over 50 million babies home from the hospital. To offer your little one the best-in-class safety, our car seats and bases undergo constant testing.

As a manufacturer, we recommend using an ISOFIX base. It’s so easy to install, the chances of doing it wrong are slim to none. The Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix3 enables a Click & Go installation for a correct and secure fit.

ISOFIX installation for the Jade, Coral, Tinca, Rock, Pebble Plus, Pebble Pro i-Size, Pearl Smart i-Size and Pearl Pro 2 i-Size

We understand that owning a baby car seat or safety carrycot, means having to install it correctly every day. Our Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix3 makes it easy to install your baby car seat or safety carrycot , giving you peace of mind.

The Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix3 has been constructed to fit our Jade safety carrycot, Coral, Tinca, Rock, Pebble Plus and Pebble Pro i-Size baby car seat, and our Pearl Pro 2 i-Size and Pearl Smart i-Size toddler car seat, allowing your baby to use the base for up to 4 years. It also offers both a Click & Go and Slide & Go installation.

Additionally, the FamilyFix3 enables you to install the toddler car seat in rear-facing. For greater protection of your little one’s head and neck, experts recommend that your baby travel in the rear-facing position until he or she grows to 105 cm (approx. 4 years). As the leading specialist in child mobility, we do what the experts say, and allow your little one to travel the right way for as long as possible.

FAQs

The Bébé Confort FamilyFix3 has a universal fit on any i-Size seating positions in cars equipped as such. However, there are cars without i-Size seating positions, but with ISOFIX anchorage points. In most cases FamilyFix3 will fit, but for a full list of compatible cars please consult the "Car Fitting List" at www.Bébé Confort.com.

Once installed, the safety performance is not affected by the batteries; the lights and sound serve only to indicate correct or incorrect installation. When the batteries are low in voltage, this will be indicated by the LED light visually and by a sound warning. You can change the batteries easily from the bottom of the FamilyFix3 base. On average, the batteries will last for approximately 2 years.

We advise you to check the manual of your car if any information is provided. Otherwise you can contact your car dealer to assess options. It might be possible to place the leg at the bottom of the storage compartment or place the support leg on top of it. Some car brands also sell storage compartment filling material.

The light with one dot indicates a correct installation of the ISOFIX connectors of the FamilyFix3. Make sure that both ISOFIX connectors at the back of the base are installed correctly to the ISOFIX anchorage points of the car.

The light with two connected dots indicates a correct installation of the support leg of the FamilyFix3. Make sure that the support leg is completely unfolded so that the angle of the support leg is slightly towards the front.

The light with three connected dots indicates if the car seat is correctly installed onto the FamilyFix3 base. Please make sure that the front and rear mounting bars of the car seat are correctly clicked, and thus installed onto the base.

The >15m stands for "only to be used in this position as of minimally 15 months old". This is in line with the new i-Size regulation that prescribes to only start transporting children in cars forward facing when they are over 15 months old. By then the child’s neck is strong enough to withstand the impulsive force of an average frontal collision. However, Bébé Confort always recommends to transport children rearward facing for as long as possible.

This indicator communicates to turn off an airbag when the FamilyFix3 is positioned on the front passenger seat. Using a rearward facing car seat in the presence of an active frontal airbag is even not allowed by law. This is for the reason that if it was to inflate, it would expose the child to forces equivalent to a heavy crash and can cause severe injuries or even death. Most cars though do not have ISOFIX anchorages on front passenger seats.

The car seat can be released from the FamilyFix3 base by using one of the grey release levers on the side of the base. This is a one-hand operation, therefore it is not needed to operate both release levers simultaneously.

The anti-rebound bar brings more stability and safety for longer rearward facing use. This way the FamilyFix3 can be used from birth up to 105 cm (approx. 4 years) rearward facing.

This is usually not possible because the ISOFIX anchorage points are almost always installed during production in the factory and are attached to the chassis of the car. However, there are a number of car makes that have been offering the ISOFIX system for a number of years as an "option”. In these cars, the assembly points for the anchorages are already integrated into the bottom of the car body. Please contact your car dealer for more information.

The support leg serves several functions. The support leg prevents the car seat from rotating (tipping) in the event of an accident. If the support leg is not used, the car seat may be pushed so deep into the seat of the car during a frontal collision that the child will be thrown forward and may even hit the front seat or dashboard. The support leg is equipped with an indicator that shows whether the installation is correct.

This happens in some vehicles configurations where the ISOFIX anchorages are positioned high compared to the vehicle bench. As long as the 2 ISOFIX connectors and the support leg of the FamilyFix3 are engaged correctly (check display indicators if correctly installed), this is safe. If possible, the support leg can also be adjusted in height in order to reduce the gap. This gap does not affect safety in any case and it is not allowed to fill the gap in any way whatsoever.

In order to allow an optimal fit in even more cars the FamilyFix3 is equipped with a removable and adjustable anti-rebound bar. In case of a rear bench with a more upright backrest angle, adjusting the anti-rebound bar is needed. This can be done by pulling out the anti-rebound bar, adjusting the wheels on the rear left and right hand side from 1 (100° angle) to 2 (95° angle), and placing back the anti-rebound bar.

In case of a rear bench with a more upright backrest angle, it could occur that after installing the base there is a gap between the backrest and the base. The FamilyFix3 is equipped with a removable and adjustable anti-rebound bar to reduce a possible gap. Therefore, this can easily be solved by first unlocking the ISOFIX connectors and by pulling out the anti-rebound bar. Then adjust the wheels on the rear left and right hand side from 1 to 2 to get from a 100° angle to a 95° angle. Reinstall the anti-rebound bar and install the base again by connecting the ISOFIX connectors and placing the support leg in the correct position.

If installed properly, a Bébé Confort car seat is the safest in its class. The IsoFix method prevents incorrect installation of the car seat, but is no safer than when the seat is installed using the traditional method. IsoFix prevents incorrect installation because a colour indicator (red or green) is used to indicate the correct installation of various parts.

ISOFIX is an international standardized fitting system, which provides the safest, easiest and quickest way to install a child car seat correctly without the need of vehicle seat belts. The name ISOFIX stands for ISO (International Standardization Organization) plus FIX (Fixation). ISOFIX car seats make use of two standard attachment points located at the base of the seat, plus an anti-tipping forward device: either a support leg or top tether. From 2006 all new cars are equipped with ISOFIX, and ISOFIX is also fitted in a large number of car brands built prior to 2006. Find out more about ISOFIX.

This support leg serves several functions. The support leg prevents the car seat from rotating (tipping) in the event of an accident. If the support leg is not used, the car seat may be pushed so far into the seat of the car during a front-end collision that the child will be thrown forward and may even hit the front seat or dashboard. The support leg is equipped with an indicator that shows whether the installation is correct. All IsoFix products from Bébé Confort have indicators so that you can immediately see whether the car seat has been installed correctly. The indicators are located on the steel IsoFix anchor points and the support leg: a green colour appears if the support leg is adjusted properly. The IsoFix products from Bébé Confort rank among the very best and safest car seats on the market. The Bébé Confort CabrioFix with EasyFix base has received the highest possible rating of five stars. Your child is guaranteed optimal safety with our IsoFix products.
